aha moment

When was the last time you had an aha moment about your business?

Picture yourself vacationing on a beach in Hawaii, bathing in the warmth of the sun, feeling the light warm breeze against your skin; you see the sun glistening on the water as the waves gently wash ashore.  Breathing in the faint pleasant scent of the salty sea air it reminds you of the days you spent at the shore as a child.  A sea gull calls out and flies slowly out over the ocean in search of fish.  Seeing the seagull heading out to sea, and feeling warm inside and out, you naturally grab a raft and plunge into the light blue ocean.  Feeling fresh and comfortable, you get onto the raft and with your hands, paddle out beyond the breakers.  Now feeling really relaxed and calm, you lie back on the raft, floating and gently rocking in the light ocean chop while listening to the ever so faint sound of steel drums on the beach.  Still feeling the light breeze on your face, you lie back on the raft as you slowly close your eyes and relax in a way that you haven’t in a very long time.  Really feeling good, settling into the raft, your eyes now closed, you can feel the relaxation permeating your body from your toes up to your head.  You are so relaxed that you feel yourself enter into that wonderful state just before you fall asleep.

Suddenly, and without warning a gust of wind and the ocean current carry you further out to sea. You feel panic in the pit of your stomach and for a moment freeze not knowing how to react.  You look up and can barely see the beach as you are being swept further away caught in the gust and the current!

In this same moment you find yourself at your business in a deep sweat, panic setting in.  You find yourself deep in thought about your business not making enough profit.  You need more customers and to make your business grow.

Trying to paddle the raft with your hands is not helping; you find the paddle attached to the bottom of the raft and quickly untie it, noticing the inscription engraved on it is Waikiki World Wonderland and that’s when the aha  moment happens Waikiki World Wonderland (WWW)… the Internet, digital marketing … that’s it, that’s how I can improve my business.  Wow!  What a realization. Excited, you quickly paddle the raft back to shore.

Back at the beach you pull your tablet computer out and begin to search for solution providers.  You find providers that only provide parts of the solution some offer websites, others social media, still others provide list and email building services. You are growing more and more frustrated.

Knowing you are onto something, you don’t give up. Later that day, while sitting in a coffee shop you meet an interesting fellow.  He says he is a superhero and his name is Metron.  You listen as he tells you about his Digital Marketing Franchise called BizziBiz. You are thinking, what a great name… That’s just what I want a busy biz…

Metron is telling me that BizziBiz:

It’s called a ROADMAP, and it is a customized marketing solution for my business, my brand and culture. … I can get it a really low price and without any commitment to sign up for services… and their service plans don’t require contracts – it’s month to month! Sounds like they are pretty sure of themselves

The Empowerment of Divine Matrix

All through recorded history  there have been references, stories and evidences of a force, a power of spirituality tapped into by spiritual people to create miracles for themselves and the common good.  Mountain top Guru's, Healers and medicine men, Jesus, Moses, Mohammad, Gandhi, Buddha and the American Indian to name a few.  So what is this power that seemingly is only available to a few, how can you understand and use it for your own and the common good?

This power has been referred to as natures mind, the mind of God, the whole from which all things come, the zero point field, creation itself, the divine matrix, etc..  Through the ages it has been a mystic, practiced mostly within the Eastern world and associated with spirituality and religion.  Many illusive references exist in biblical writings.  Quantum physics has proven that such a power exists and that it is comprised of energy somewhat analogous to light or photon energy and even though we can't see it, touch it or feel it, it is present everywhere and comprises everything.   It is the beginning of all things and all things come  from and are made from this single source of energy. This energy serves as the bridge or communication between the inner and outer world (the world of things).

Stories abound of people willing themselves healthy, levitating physical objects, communicating thoughts without speaking and across long distances, out of body experiences of remote viewing locations and events across the world.  We witness some people who have all the luck, everything they touch turns to gold and others who seemingly are doomed to struggle through life, suffering from lack of success, poor health and/or unloving relationships.  We've all heard about,  thought about, witnessed, or experienced how attitude and beliefs seemingly contribute to the quality of the journey through life.

Many have written about this phenomena referring to it in many different ways - Brian Tracy, Wayne Dyer, Deepak Chopra, Gregg Braden, James Ray, T Harv Eker, etc.  References such as The Secret, The law of attraction, Harmonic Wealth all have their roots in this concept and the science of Quantum Physics which has now proven out what was considered theory or mystical spirituality.  To date there have been numerous scientific experiments that have validated the existence of this energy phenomena and the special powers that it provides (reference quantum physics, GreggBraden.com, see youtube link below-Del Hargis) and there is more to come.

It is said that this energy connects everything in the universe and is an energy of communication capable of communicating with anything in the universe over any distance.   It is also thought that everything in the universe is comprised and made from this energy (further substantiating the science of energy and matter being one and the same proven by Einstein.

So now that I've provided a whee bit of background and the science behind this Divine Matrix -  Here is what is known about how to effectively use it.

Tapping the Matrix

1.  The matrix has no concept of time as we know it.  Past, present and future coexist in what we think of as parallel universes.  Therefore everything you desire already exists in the matrix and in abundance.  You just have to align your beliefs, thoughts, feelings and emotions with what you truly desire.

2. There is something to the law of attraction  - what we think and believe about life's experiences, obstacles and challenges will absolutely be reflected back to us from the divine matrix.  This is visible through the results we achieve.  So if you are not achieving what you think you should, you need to change your beliefs, thoughts, feelings and actions.

The best way to tap the energy of the matrix and have it mirror back to us what we truly desire is through the language of the heart - emotions and feelings, not from conscious thought.  The hardest part for most is getting in touch with our emotions (especially us guys), we must learn to feel and project our desires through feelings and less so from thoughts and vocalization.

3.  Wanting something, praying for it, asking for it, serve to keep you wanting it.  This is because what you think, believe and feel emotionally is the emotion of wanting, meaning you don't have it.  This releases "wanting" energy into the matrix and that is exactly what mirrors back to you... you will always be wanting and not having.  Thinking, feeling, believing that you already have what you want in abundance and feeling of grateful will attract more.

4.  Having a positive attitude in dealing with inevitable setbacks.  Obstacles that you encounter are tests of your depth of sincerity.  Take them in stride, stay in the moment, don't "predict" the future or get side tracked emotionally by what has happened in the past.  Do take calm and assertive action to address obstacles.  Be action oriented and accountable.

5. If you want to increase and attract more love, better relationships you must let go of past negative relationships and truly forgive people for what they may have done to you or to what you may have done to yourself.  What you feel is what you will get mirrored back to you in results.  Feelings of loving, forgiving, connection, togetherness will be what comes to you.

6.  Attitudes are contagious - experiments in Quantum Physics have proven that individuals and small groups of people can positively affect the feelings and attitudes of other.  In order to work permanently these feelings must be sustained and not short lived.  Make your attitude positive, compassionate, foregiving, helpful, loving.  Do it with integrity and sincerity and see what comes back to you.

7.  Being present and accountable - you can not be powerful living in the past or the future.  Live in the moment and be accountable to yourself for your ways and actions.

8.  You have to take action - Thinking and feeling and communicating your feelings to the matrix is the beginning. However, you have to take the actions that you will be lead to for this to work.  Be on the lookout and be ready when opportunity knocks or a door opens and take action on it to achieve the results you desire.

If this topic has peaked your interest, I encourage to Google, quantum physics, Gregg Braden and partake of the many studies and experiments that have proven this out.

Lastly, remember it takes Awareness,Accountability and Practice

Are you driven by the outcome or deterred by the journey?

In the last week, I've learned 2 related personal development techniques through the telling of stories by a couple of mentors that are truly awesome that I'd like to share.

Charles Hosea, came to the US at the age of 10, from a 3rd world, island tribal community.  He has gone on to be a successful business owner, husband, father and an inspiration to all the lives that he touches.  Charles is full of heartfelt stories about his life and family that drive his many learned lesson home.

His latest is a story that emphasizes keeping the outcome in mind and not being deterred by the journey and the hardships that are encountered along the way.

Charles, at the age of 11, already had this wisdom and the conviction to stand by it.  It is clear to me why he has done so well in his life and in business.  Charles was a member of the boy scouts and was excited about a week long hike in the mountains to a lake to camp out, boat and fish.  He completely envisioned how beautiful this trip was going to be.  He was excited about arriving at the lake high in the mountains, camping in tents, cooking over a fire, boating and fishing.  To a boy of 11, this was to be the ultimate experience.  The vision he had in his head of this trip was painted by the scout master and surely enticing to Charles.

He passed on to his parents a suggested list of equipment and supplies that would be needed for the week long journey.  His parents, who barely spoke any English and were poor to boot, did the best they could to find and outfit their young son for this journey, buying and obtaining what they could in the most inexpensive way possible.  One of the key pieces of equipment required was a backpack to carry, clothes, canned foods and other necessary equipment.  Well, Charles' parents didn't know what a backpack was and ended up bringing him a duffel bag.

Charles started this advanced multi-day hike to reach the campsite carrying a duffel bag over his shoulder with food cans shifting and soon feeling strained and falling behind his fellow scout members.  While the other hikers were outfitted with hiking boots, backpacks and all the modern day equipment, Charles wore sandals and soon developed blisters.  After shifting the cans around in his duffel bag and moving it from shoulder to shoulder he found that carrying it resting over his head was the most comfortable position.  Even with this new position for the duffel bag, Charles had difficulty negotiating the rough mountain terrain and lagged behind the rest of the pack, who constantly had to wait for him to catch up, but he never gave up.  His end vision of camping in tents, cooking over an open fire, swimming, boating and fishing in the lake (his outcome) are what kept him going!

The second and related lesson I learned from Del Hargis at an absolutely awesome 2 day event!  Del, using the Wizard of OZ story to emphasize points about limiting beliefs, not living in the moment and the power of the "ruby slippers" that we all have but many of us don't realize.  However, the point I want to drive home is how people chase brooms, and get themselves  derailed from the outcome in mind.

So what did Del mean by a broom?  If you remember the Wizard of OZ story.... When the journey on the yellow brick road ended in the chambers of the Wizard of OZ,  The Wizard sent them to retrieve the broom of the wicked witch before he would grant them their request for a heart, courage, brains and to get poor Dorothy home.  It was about proving their worthiness, testing their tenacity and seriousness.

Now, looking back at Charles' hike, having the right equipment equates to the broom.  He could have arrived at the hike, discovered he was ill equiped, needing a backpack, hiking shoes etc. and opted out.  In fact he could have opted out anywhere along the way, when the going got tough.

How do these lessons apply in your own life.  Do you try something and when the inevitable obstacles arrive do you have the tenacity to separate the hardships of the journey (temporary) from the outcome in the end?

Have you thought about things like doing more exercise and lthen let the brooms get in the way... having the right sneakers, bikes, weights, and other equipment.  Do you think and then stop because you don't have the credibility, experience, know how and then place getting these brooms in your path?....

If you do, you can now think about this story and better understand how your vision or your WHY needs to be your driving force and how you have the tenacity demonstrated by an 11 year old boy to get through the obstacles of the journey and to not chase brooms that you put in your in your own path... they are just self imposed obstacles that side track you from the mission at hand!

Can Real Estate Investing be right for you

Have you been burned by the world economy?  Are you out of work, or living in fear of losing your job?  Are you in debt?  Can't pay your mortgage?  Have you lost a huge chunk of your retirement funds?  What's preventing you from taking charge of your investments and doing some real estate investing?  Don't know how?  Have fears of being burned?  Think this is not a good time to invest in real estate?

Real Estate investing does have risk.  It is complicated, requires the ability to spot a deal, analyze it financially, negotiate it with owners and banks, and understanding and properly positioning of multiple exit strategies to minimize your risk.  However, that said, it can provide significant asset growth, passive income and lead to getting out of the rat race and having the lifestyle you and your loved ones deserve.

So, what's the secret of successful real estate investing?  I'd say the number one item is education.  You can learn by doing, making mistakes, learning from them and doing it smarter the next time.  This works for many, but the lessons learned are expensive.  The TV GURU's...   you've seen them on late night TV with claims of get rich quick with no money down.   Most of these Guru's are no longer investing and their techniques are dated and don't necessarily work in today's market.

Did you know there are many different ways to invest and make money in real estate.  Have you heard of things like, Wholesaling, short sales, lease options, buy and hold, fix and flip.  They all work and are dependent on the particular property, the neighborhood, the current economic climate, analysis of the financials and other factors.

If you would like to make excellent return on investment, regrow your retirement funds, build enough passive income to get out of the rat race we should talk and you should consider investing 2 hours of your time to listen to a briefing and learn how you can learn to invest in real estate, do so successfully with the support of a network of investors who cover each others back and if you are so inclined you can get paid high commissions for introducing this education to others.

Our education provides approximately 40 different real estate investing, tax and legal strategies, creative acquistion techniques.  The course are offered in a live college like environment coupled with the ability to repeat classes live and online.

Call Lloyd at 480 513 4104 or email LloydL2@cox.net for a complimentary invitation to a briefing and find out how this can change your life.

SPIN selling

What is Spin Selling?  The acronym SPIN stands for Situation, Problem, Implication, Need.  It follows the technique that questions are the best way to engage prospects and clients.

Situation -  ask questions to find out about the prospect, her current job, lifestyle, family life, obligations, debt, income, savings, retirement plans, etc.

Problem - based on the information gathered in defining the situation ask questions that identify problems with the prospects current situation, ie. no job, not making enough money, no retirement, debt,  inability to paydown debt, poor credit.  Since most people make buy decisions based on emotion and justify it with logic,  this step is very important as it reminds the prospect of the "pain" they are living with and provides the motivation for helping them make decisions that can improve the problem and the situation

Implication -  to further the prospect of the "pain" they are enduring, Implication questions help the prospect think through the consequences of their situation and problem(s) effect themselves, family friends.  This is about things they want but can't do.  Some examples are paying for children's college education, setting aside retirement, getting out of debt, raising credit rating, owning a home, car.

Need - This is the time to ask questions about the value of a proposed solution.  Questions like What would it mean to you if you could earn $10,000 per month?  What would it mean to you if you could increase your net worth by $$$$$.  This need step mirrors the implications but now with positive emphasis.

Generating Leads for your MLM or small business

Most network marketers get off to a roaring start marketing their new business products, services and opportunity to join the team, to family and friends with some degree of success.  Eventually, most people run out of steam, get frustrated and give up.  This doesn't have to happen to you!  And if you are practicing good leadership for your team, you can and should help them prevent it from happening to them.

There are many ways to find new prospects and I will review them and provide comments and suggestions.  Remember we learn from each other so I encourage you to comment.

1.  Personal Referral Market -  This is commonly referred to as the "warm market".  It starts off with a list of everyone you can think of that you know.  It should be easy for most people to generate an initial list of 150 to 200 people or more.  From this list there are bound to be a portion of people that you have some reservations about contacting.  This could be because you haven't spoken to them in a long time, or because of pre conceived notions on whether they would be interested or what they may think about you doing this.  Don't let that stop you, if necessary engage your "upline" to do a 3 way call or as someone you can refer your contact to.

2. Network groups -  These are groups that meet periodically to allow business people to network, help each other and do some marketing.  The primary goal in attending these meetings are to meet people and build rapport with them.  Do not go with the intent of selling your product or service as this typically turns people off.  Concentrate on Meeting people, learning about them, keeping in touch and developing a relationship.  Do this by asking them questions about what they do, what issues and concerns they have. What and how  questions work the best.  Be genuine and helpful.  You want to become known for contributing.  Do not pitch your product or service.  Do collect business cards.  Do not give your cards out unless you are asked.  Volunteer and become a leader in the key groups that you attend.
3.  Online network groups / social groups -  There are a number of social networks where you can get to know people without leaving your home.  Some of the more popular ones are Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter, Plaxo...  By joining interest groups within each of these and contributing to the discussions, either answering discussions or generating discussions you will rapidly build your connections.  A little subtle marketing here goes a long way expecially in interest groups that relate to your product or service or geographical area.  The same approach should be used here as in Network groups, become known, be helpful, email connections and build a relationship by asking about their profile, business, what issues they face and lose sleep over, how the economy is effecting them.  Offer help, connect people with each other and once you have established a bond, then and then only should you market your stuff.  The goal here and in Network groups is to move these new, casual relationships up the ladder to your warm market.
4.  The Internet -  Although most MLM uplines frown upon using the internet, it can provide a substantial source of quality leads, but it is not for the faint hearted.  It requires a lot of work, skills and know how to build a website, set it up to capture contact info, typically by offering an ebook, an email update or some type of valuable and free information. There are a lot of nuances and alternate methods to get people to your website which are too lengthy to go into here.

The process to follow with the internet is always the same -it's being helpful, building relations before offering your product or service.

5.  Lead generation services
- various services sell leads that you can then call and followup with
6.  Email /direct mail and drip campaignsemail can be useful in certain situations, it works best with people you already know or as followup to the the other methods.  For example, if you establish a contact via your webpage or a network group and speak with them or build rapport electronically (the key is they have to know who you are),   email, direct mail and drip campaigns can provide additional information to a wider audience in a minimal amount of time.
7.  Ads
- placing ads in newspapers, periodicals, local town flyers, job databases, craigslist - I will cover some techniques for writing the ads in another blog soon..
8.  Billboards, banners, car wraps - use a tag line and phone number to attract buyers.  Not always worth the cost
9.  Flyers -  Flyers can get results but they are expensive and labor intensive to distribute.  If you are going to use flyers, place them in the drivers side window right above the door handle.  Do not put them on the windshield or under the windshield wipers, this makes people angry when they have to get out of their car to fetch it.  Also, some large parking lots such as malls do not permit flyers due to the litter factor.  Flyers provide mixed results
10. Tradeshows - Setting up a table at a tradeshow can provide you with a significant number of quality leads.  The goal at a tradeshow is to be brief and collect business cards / contact information for followup.  It is usually not effective to do product demos especially on a one on one basis.

A few tips on selling

Are you having the success you want from your MLM, home business or direct sales opportunity?  Were you lured into MLM on the promises of the American dream?  Are you finding that it requires more selling than you were led to believe?

Well it does and so what,  Selling is just another skill that you can learn.

One of the most common mistakes people make is that they lead with their product, service or opportunity.  As soon as they meet someone, they pull their widget out of their back pocket and try to sell it to their prospect.  This immediately serves to put your prospect in defense  mode, just looking for a reason to say NO!  So if your marketing efforts use any of the following methods:

  • Network groups
  • Buying leads
  • Researching target marget prospects via the internet or yellow pages
  • Placing ads in local papers and newsletters
  • Placing ads on Craigs list
  • Communicating and ad via the internet social networks (facebook, twitter, linkedin, etc.)
  • Mail or Email campaigns
  • Internet marketing

Changing your approach can greatly improve your odds of success.

In spite of what your upline tells you, you do need to sell and knowing how is important to your success.

Here are today’s tips:

  1. Stop leading with your productDon’t even mention your opportunity until later in the process
  2. Build rapport -  Engage the person in conversation, be genuine and show genuine interest in the person.  Some typical ways or building rapport are looking for common interests, work experience, religious background, ethnic background, hometowns, places lived, hobbies, favorite restaurants.  Another good way is to work a generality into the conversation- something like-  where you ever stopped at a traffic light and the person in the lane next to you backs up or rolls backward and you step harder on the brake, or did you ever notice that if one person in a room yawns then others will follow suite….
  3. Stop Talking and Listen – listen carefully and figure out what drives, motives and how this person makes decisions- encourage the prospect to talk
  4. When you do talk ask questions -  Find out what the persons situation is, what they are looking for, what they want out of life, what their successes and failures are, what they are losing sleep over.  The goal here is to get a good idea if this person is a good prospect and how you can best guide them to a decision to buy your opportunity.
  5. If they ask you what do you do- that would be a good time to INTRODUCE your opportunity, go slow, be interruptable for questions and don’t try to get the sale on the spot.  The outcome you should be thinking about is to get to step 2 (setting up an appointment to discuss your widget).  Be attentive and pace this based on reactions and interest.  Try to do your pitch more by asking questions while assessing interest and level of commitment.  Pace yourself.
  6. Address objections with more questions –  Never get into a debate with a prospect about the merits and benefits of your opportunity.
Ask if they are ready to proceed, or which option makes the most sense for them. If they reply with “I don’t have the money right now.”  You can ask, How long has this been the case?  Would you like to do something about that?  If they say they need some time to think about it.  You can ask specifically what part of what I’ve described do you need to think about… and do you have anything that you are not clear about that I can explain more thoroughly.  Ask what their concerns are.
  7. You don’t have to close on the first conversation -  get small commitments/decisions to continue the process.  Followup set a date and time and followup.  Always ask if they are still interested and to tell you if they are not.
  8. Be persistent but know when it is time to opt out.

Comments and suggestions are encouraged, we learn from each other.
